Locally U(1)×U(1) Symmetric Cosmological Models: Topology and Dynamics
نویسنده
چکیده
We show examples which reveal influences of spatial topologies to dynamics, using a class of spatially closed inhomogeneous cosmological models. The models, called the locally U(1)×U(1) symmetric models (or the generalized Gowdy models), are characterized by the existence of two commuting spatial local Killing vectors. For systematic investigations we first present a classification of possible spatial topologies in this class. We stress the significance of the locally homogeneous limits (i.e., the Bianchi types or the ‘geometric structures’) of the models. In particular, we show a method of reduction to the natural reduced manifold, and analyze the equivalences at the reduced level of the models as dynamical models. Based on these fundamentals, we examine influences of spatial topologies to dynamics by obtaining translation and reflection operators which commute with the dynamical flow in the phase space. The Birkhoff theorem for topologically massive gravity
We derive the general Σ2×S solution of topologically massive gravity in vacuum and in presence of a cosmological constant. The field equations reduce to three-dimensional Einstein equations and the solution has constant Ricci tensor. We briefly discuss the emergence of non-Ricci flat solutions when spin is introduced. متن کاملBulk viscous string cosmological models in Saez – Ballester theory of gravitation
Spatially homogeneous Bianchi type-II, VIII and IX anisotropic, as well as isotropic cosmological models can be obtained in a scalar tensor theory of gravitation proposed by Saez and Ballester (1986) when the source for energy momentum tensor is a bulk viscous fluid containing one-dimensional cosmic strings. All the models obtained and presented here are expanding, non-rotating and accelerating...
متن کاملOn Spin(7) holonomy metric based on SU(3)/U(1)
We investigate the Spin(7) holonomy metric of cohomogeneity one with the principal orbit SU(3)/U(1). A choice of U(1) in the two dimensional Cartan subalgebra is left as free and this allows manifest Σ3 = W (SU(3)) (= the Weyl group) symmetric formulation. We find asymptotically locally conical (ALC) metrics as octonionic gravitational instantons. Complex projective space CP(2) that is a supers...
متن کاملNumerical investigation of cosmological singularities.
A primary unresolved issue for cosmological singularities is whether or not their behavior is locally of the Mixmaster type (as conjectured by Belinskii, Khalatnikov, and Lifshitz (BKL)). The Mixmaster dynamics first appears in spatially homogeneous cosmologies of Bianchi Types VIII and IX. A multiple of the spatial scalar curvature acts as a closed potential leading, in the evolution toward th...
متن کاملSolving fractional evolution problem in Colombeau algebra by mean generalized fixed point
The present paper is devoted to the existence and uniqueness result of the fractional evolution equation $D^{q}_c u(t)=g(t,u(t))=Au(t)+f(t)$ for the real $qin (0,1)$ with the initial value $u(0)=u_{0}intilde{R}$, where $tilde{R}$ is the set of all generalized real numbers and $A$ is an operator defined from $mathcal G$ into itself. Here the Caputo fractional derivative $D^{q}_c$ is used i...
